About Me

My name is Lena. I was born on the 7th of September 2014 in Poland. I was born with a congenital malformation known as Tibial Hemimelia characterized by shortened leg with foot, ankle, and knee abnormalities. My case involved malformation and deformities of both legs, which prevented me to walk, as a matter of fact my parents were told initially that amputation is the only choice.

Through sheer determination of my parents they finally found Dr. Dror Paley and his Paley institute, where help was offered. I am now after total of 6 surgeries over the course of the last 12 months, and long, painful, and arduous rehabilitation which is a continuous process.

Unfortunately, as I am from Poland, my family is struggling to afford full costs of treatment, which for me will include numerous revisions, lengthening surgeries, and years of specialized bracing and rehabilitation... and this does not include the costs of room and board for me and my parents as I go through the course of treatment in West Palm Beach, FL.

I am now walking which is a miracle! With your help we can keep this miracle going. Please be my angel, please give me the gift of walking...
